Test Reflection

Testing students on skills and theory was interesting for and frustrating for some of them.

The group that enjoyed it - said NICE ONE!!!!

On the other hand those who had it tough - said EISH MARA!!!!

What did you say?

What are going to do to make yourself FEEL BETTER next time?

RVO 2010 class

Hi All

Describe your opinion in a paragraph of 60 words as a response to the one stated below.

In my opinion the influence of technology use in education is underplayed by people who do not have an idea of its value.

"Technology enables students to learn in ways not previously possible." The National Educational Technology Standards Projects (NETS) made the statement.

What do you think of the statement?

Hons - Video from schooltube - Interesting

Check out this video on a "A Brief History of Technology in Education" from Copiague Middle School. It is quick look at how far we have come and where we are going in educational technology in classroom.

It is depicting a fast paced progress and changes that some of us are still chasing towards being digital natives away from digital immigrants. His conclusion is - "it is only the beginning"

Answer both questions:
  • Where is your school in this race? and
  • Where are you (as an individual) in this educational technology race?
View the video on this link: http://www.schooltube.com/video/36281/A-Brief-History-of-Technology-in-Education

I wonder. Do you also wonder or is everthing under control in your eyes and practice?

Hope to hear from you

Hons - Teach the way they learn?

It is interesting how we as teachers respond to the role we shoul play in the modern classroom. Some shifts have been expected from us already with the notion that we need not be the only source of all information and knowledge. We must lead our learners to the well and show them the sweet waters of knowledge and facilitate the filtering of the data from the many sources.

Be this teacher - “A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others.” and this motivator - “A master can tell you what he expects of you. A teacher, though, awakens your own expectations.

Our biggest challenge is this quote - we need to live up to this challenge - “If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.

No wonder the webquest assignment - it is trying to stretch your imagination to using the modern tools your learners use almost everyday after school.

Enjoy the ride

Hons class 2009

You possibly are enjoying the use of these tools of communication (publish). Our challenge is to turns them into our friends in our practice - teaching, learning and administration.

My experience is that until we actually use the tools, they remain tools and not move beyond that. I wish that you take the trouble and use them - to prove that you have minimised or closed the gap between you and the digital natives.

Good practice breeds good results (remember "success breeds success"). I want to challenge all of you to be different at the end of this course - be confident, your colleagues will be able to follow your lead.

Are you ready to take the challenge?

Enjoy your ride!
